“The Sunday Horse” just wrapped up filming in the Conyers area last week. The production spent two weeks filming at Conyers locations such as The Georgia International Horse Park, Rockdale Hospital, and eleven other major locations. The production office was stationed in Conyers off of Salem Road and hired local workers to aid with the production in and around town.
The film follows the story of Debi Walden, a U.S. equestrian champion jumper who overcomes a near fatal accident to train an underdog horse for a world class championship. The film is based on true events inspired by the life of Debi Connor. “Twilight” star Nikki Reid heads the cast with other stars Linda Hamilton (“The Terminator, 1984”), William Shatner (“Star Trek, 1966-69”), and Ryan Merriman (“Final Destination 3, 2006”).
Vic Armstrong is directing the film. He is most well known for his work as a stunt coordinator for major films including: “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” (1984), “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade” (1989), “Die Another Day” (2002), “War of the Worlds” (2005), and “Thor” (2011) to name a few. Along with his work on “The Sunday Horse” he directed “Left Behind” with Nicolas Cage which will release later this year.
“The Sunday Horse” is set for release in 2015.
